作者、繪者簡介

葛瑞米．貝斯 Graeme Base

　　全球知名的澳洲兒童繪本作家。1958年出生於英國的阿默舍姆，8歲時全家移居到澳洲的墨爾本，目前，葛瑞米與同為藝術家的妻子蘿繽、三個孩子定居於此。

　　葛瑞米創作的字母書《動物狂想曲》（Animalia）在1986年出版後，便受到國際一致讚譽，創造了全球銷售超過三百萬冊的佳績，奠定了經典地位，還改編成動畫搬上電視螢幕。他的作品不僅深受讀者喜愛，也獲獎連連，曾榮獲美國綠地球圖書獎、澳洲荒野協會環保獎年度最佳繪本、澳洲童書協會年度好書獎、澳洲語言病理學協會年度童書獎等獎項。1998年，葛瑞米獲得澳洲兒童文學界極具聲望的多龍金獎，肯定他對兒童文學的貢獻。

　　葛瑞米覺得旅行是獲得靈感最好的方式，他的許多故事多半來自旅行中的經歷和所見所聞。葛瑞米喜歡運用水彩和色鉛筆作畫，有時也使用噴槍和電腦繪圖，畫風細膩華麗、色彩鮮明飽滿，畫面中總是隱藏了許多細節。目前在小天下出版的作品有：《阿吉的許願鼓》、《阿諾的花園》、《來喝水吧！》與《航海小英雄》。
